Mary Clare Gumbleton

CEO

With over 20 years of experience directly applicable to today’s global environment, bringing an extensive real-world perspective to each project. Ms. Gumbleton delivers results for clients, focusing on performance measurement, business process improvement, and quality assurance. Ms. Gumbleton has advised senior officials in the highest levels of government, including the White House, the Director of National Intelligence, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and three US Cabinet Secretaries. She served as a strategic advisor to the Joint Chiefs of Staff throughout the Global War on Terror and provided communications counsel during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Ms. Gumbleton has extensive international experience, developing community micro-enterprises as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Nepal and traveling extensively through Asia, including India, Burma, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia. Additionally, she managed communications projects and supported public-private partnership creation within Ireland and Northern Ireland, and managed communications projects in the Netherlands, South Africa and Tanzania. Mary Clare is a 1986 graduate of the University of Michigan.

Jason Hinton

President

Jason Hinton is a communications specialist with a background in military communications support services and political grassroots outreach operations. Mr. Hinton has developed and lead the foreign media analysis operations of the Global War on Terrorism as a consultant to the US Department of Defense. Mr. Hinton has developed strategic communications plans and full spectrum media products for national and international voter registration, education, mobilization and protection operations, mobilizing traditional and non-traditional information delivery systems to achieve outreach objectives.  Mr. Hinton has extensive experience in conducting media research, analysis and outreach activities. Mr. Hinton’s academic background includes a BA in political science with a strong background in social psychology from Tufts University; and a law degree from Widener University School of Law.

Ozgur Vural

Director of Business Operations

Ozgur Vural is a director of business operations focused on strategies to capture domestic and global business opportunities, as well as providing expertise on global security issues. Between 2004 and 2008, he provided strategic counsel, operational and communications support to the US Central Command, Multi National Forces Iraq and US Strategic Command. As an independent communication consultant, he also advised several commercial clients in Turkey.  Between 1997-2004, Ozgur worked at the Defense Office of the Turkish Embassy in Washington D.C. as the Assistant to the Defense Cooperation Attaché (DCA).  His duties were to provide executive communications support to DCA by developing senior-level liaisons between the Turkish Ministry of Defense and the US Department of Defense.  Ozgur earned a MS in international management at the University of Maryland, University College and BS in business administration at Gardner-Webb University, N.C.

Michael Carr

Vice President

Michael Carr brings 20 years of strategic communications success and expertise to C&S. Michael’s experience includes message development & positioning; legislative & congressional affairs; reputation & crisis management; brand development & management; word of mouth marketing; and web 2.0+ interactive strategies & web-based communications. Michael has worked for and with the federal government in many capacities; represented and advised corporate entities; led press & grassroots organizing activities for political campaigns; and served as communications strategist for many non-profit organizations. Michael served as congressional liaison and special assistant in the U.S. Department of Education from 1993-97. Michael holds a Journalism degree from the University of Maryland.

Ed Pressman

International Team Leader

Ed Pressman serves as a senior public affairs and communications strategist for international, federal government, and corporate clients. Ed has extensive work and life experience around the Asia-Pacific region and the Middle East having worked and lived in Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong Singapore and Japan, including 10 years living in Indonesia (1992 – 2002) while working in remote provinces of the country on security, crisis management, public affairs and community development issues. Ed has also lived and worked in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan dealing with sensitive public affairs and communications programs for both private and public sector entities. Ed speaks fluent Bahasa Indonesia.
