Scott Kleinmann specializes in analyzing religious extremism, terrorism, and sub-state violence, with a particular focus on Southeast Asia. Since 2006, Scott’s work at ConStrat has supported various Information Operation (IO) and strategic communications programs for the U.S. military and other organizations. In 2009, Scott was a visiting fellow at the International Center for Political Violence and Terrorism Research (ICPVTR) in Singapore, researching and writing on counter-ideology. In 2005, he was a National Security Education Program (NSEP) Fellow and Fulbright-Hays funding recipient in Indonesia. Scott is a graduate of the Wisconsin State Police Academy and holds a BA in Criminal Justice from Concordia University, an MA in Southeast Asian Studies from the University of Wisconsin, and an MA in Security Studies from the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. He is fluent in Indonesian and Malay Language. Before joining ConStrat, Scott was a police officer.
